Curriculum Vitae
& a brief biography of Jeehyun Yang
I am a postdoctoral scholar in the department of Astronomy and Astrophysics working with
Professor Eliza Kempton at University of Chicago (Click to view the official profile)
I received my Bachelor of Engineering in
Resource Engineering from
Hokkaido University in 2016 and my Ph.D. in
Physical Chemistry from
MIT in 2022
My long-term research vision is Terraforming. Achieving this goal requires understanding planetary atmospheres from their fundamental physics and chemistry to their evolution, habitability, and engineering. My research therefore spans the following interconnected areas:
- Exoplanet Atmosphere Characterization and Search for Habitable Worlds
- Archean Earth, the Great Oxidation Event, and the Origins of Life
- Chemical Kinetics & Photochemistry for (Exo)planetary Atmospheres
- Terraforming of Mars and Venus
